| Meaning: Journey to the Guanzhong
Plain.
Whilst quite a long piece, I would recommend this for first
time listeners to the Banhu. However this piece shows exactly
why you cannot replace this instrument with pipes or an Erhu!
Remember this piece also depicts a journey - with all the
hazards, hardships, new experiences and new friends made along
the way. From this point of view it is similar to a symphony
that only lasts for 12 minutes. 'Chuan' is Mandarin for 'Boat',
so we presume this is a river journey.
