Buddhist Conventions |
|
During the Spring Festival of 2009, China hosted
the first leg of the 2nd World Buddhist Forum.
The opening ceremony was held at the Fangong Palace
of Lingshan, in mainland China’s coastal
city of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, before concluding
in Taiwan’s Taipei City |
|
What you may not know, is that China Expats
helped organise a meeting for over 500 Buddhists
a few days before the official opening ceremony
- right here on our local island situated in the
West Pearl River, near Foshan |
|
We regularly organise smaller events on a local,
regional, or national basis. |
Study Schools
China Expats believes in promoting Cultural Exchange
and International Understanding between all world
peoples. We are not a travel service. We do not
operate or link with any Monastery. We do provide
courses in English and Chinese focusing on Family
Values, Chinese Traditions, and living in harmony
with nature and others
One of our patrons, a Buddhist Grand Master (Aged
80 something), assists us with these courses and
offers his wisdom to aspiring scholars. We are
also ably assisted by the Hong Kong Buddhist Education
Foundation Ltd and The China Morality Association
Ltd, Hong Kong
Our mix of courses can be held in English language,
and you will be provided with free textbooks and
learning aides. Some publications of note are:
• Di Zi Gui (Guide to a Happy Life)
• Buddhism: The Awakening of Compassion
and Wisdom • CMA Handbook |

Cultural Breaks
To the casual observer it can sometimes be hard
to separate: Buddhism, Confucianism, and Kung
Fu. We assist with all levels, interests and tastes.
Therefore, if your family or group is interested
in a cultural break in China that includes a taste
of all three - then this is our pleasure to arrange
for you. If you prefer a stricter regime with
dedicated teachings in English concerning any
of these three options - then again, we know what
to do to deliver exactly what you require
Whilst our services are offered on the basis of
assistance to independent travellers, you will
find a complete itinerary awaiting you. Airport
collection, transfers, hotels or Youth Hostel
type accommodation, food, travel arrangements,
and return to airport. Teaching and excursions
are also arranged to meet your criteria. |

About Buddhist Teachings
Chinese Buddhism and Confucius are very closely linked.
Strict Buddhist teachings are of the Namo Amitabha as
presented by Venerable Master Chin Kung
Note that Chinese Buddhists practice Vegetarianism,
and also refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol.
This is unusual in world Buddhism, and specific to Chinese
cultural beliefs predating Buddhism by several centuries.
However, Buddhism is a path, and you are not expected
to stop drinking, smoking, or eating meat - if this
is your thing.
Services
Whatever your interests, China Expats can offer you
the very best of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Kung Fu
all from our base in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.
We are 2 hours drive from Hong Kong
For those wishing to experience more of China,
then know we operate reciprocal agreements with
many Chinese institutions, have reliable local
travel agents who charge one-tenth of Western
prices, and can simply ring up and book your attraction
for you -
